Austin Texas is not only the home of Disc Nation, but is also home to one of the most vibrant disc golf and disc sports scenes in the World. Central Texas features loads of great disc golf courses, disc golf clubs, tournaments, minis, and other great disc golf happenings. This page is provided as a service to our local customers wanting to keep informed of daily Central Texas disc golf news, events and happenings, and as a resource to our far-flung on-line customers who want to learn more about the Austin Disc Golf scene. As a company based in the greatest disc golf city in the world, we encourage our customers from across the globe to use this page as a resource in planning their next trip to Austin.  2011 World's Biggest Disc Golf Weekend The event is April 30th at Circle R Disc Golf Ranch, Wimberley, Texas from 9am - 5pm. Concert by Purple Room. Table and chairs available for seating. 12pm -4pm BBQ by reservation, $10 12pm-2pm $20 gets you green fees to two courses, our custom 2011 WBDGW disc, our 2011 WBDGW shirt and a seated concert. Disc Golf (also known as "Frisbee Golf" and "Folf" or "Frolf" and even "Disk Golf") is played much like traditional golf. Players use flying discs (golf discs or Frisbees®) and play holes that start with a tee area and end with a Disc Golf Basket or Target. The object: complete the hole by putting your golf disc in the basket in the fewest number of throws. The sport was formalized in the 1970s and is governed by the Professional Disc Golf Association (PDGA). There are over 3,800 courses worldwide with over 3,200 in the U.S.
