About Exact Color & Weight
Don’t you just hate it when you order a disc and have no idea what color or weight will arrive? Well, so do we. That’s why Disc Nation provides you with the ability to select a color/weight range as you shop that is directly tied to our stock! Look around, there are not too many other sites out there that offer this level of service.
How do we do this? We classify all discs that arrive at our facility according to exact color and weight, and update our site with this new stock immediately when it is received. We use a load of advanced technology so that as were receiving these discs, they are immediately uploaded to our site and made available for you to buy. Information on product options that are currently in-stock then appears next to the product listing for every disc we carry. For example, if you are looking for an Innova Wraith STAR disc and see the option “171 Orange-Red”, this tells you that we currently have at least one Wraith STAR disc in stock that weighs exactly 171 grams in a color hue that we've classified as Orange-red. We take a similar approach with other products as well, except that we list the options that are specific to that item rather than color and weight. For example, when you look at Disc Nation’s bag selection, you will see the color we currently have in stock for every bag. This way, if you want a green bag you get a green bag. Simple, right? That’s what we think, too.

You may be asking, which colors exactly do we use, and how were they chosen? Well, we called in the experts! After examining tons of plastic, our graphics pro ended up with 31 color descriptions that would cover every disc out there.
Disc Nation currently classifies all discs as one of the following colors:
Yellow-Green, Light Green, Bright Green, Dark Green, Blue-Green, Light Blue, Blue, Dark Blue, Brown, Gold, Beige, Pale Pink, Pale Purple, Pink, Purple, Red, Maroon, Orange-Red, Orange, Pale Orange, Yellow, Bright Yellow, Gray/Silver, Black, White, Clear, Multi-Color (often called "swirls" or "blends"), Tie-Dye, Glow-in-the-Dark, Ultraviolet, and SuperColor (full-color prints).
Exact Color Guide
At Disc Nation we strive to meet our customers' expectations. Since color classification can be very personal and subjective, we provide the following graphical guide featuring 25 shades of each color. These are the same images we use to classify our inventory--so if you order a "Dark Blue" disc, you can expect one of our 25 Dark Blue shades.
** Note: Images below represent solid chromatic colors; Black/White/Gray, Tie-Dye, Multi-Color, Glow, etc. are not represented in this guide.
PINK: Please note, we've found our customers either love or hate pink, and slightly pinkish reds and purples have caused issues in the past for those who dislike pink discs. Therefore our Pink color range includes everything that could be subjectively called Pink, from cool reds (commonly "neon red" or "salmon") to light-warm pink-purple. In the center of that range you'll find the typical bubblegum and neon/hot pinks that pink plastic lovers prefer. If you are ordering a Pink disc and have specific preferences on the type or family of Pink you want, please use the Notes section at Checkout. We cannot guarantee the availability of particular colors, especially under subjective names and circumstances, but we will try to honor your preference.
Multi-Color Discs: On occasion the disc manufacturers will switch colors in the molding press. Sometimes one color plastic may be left in the mold when they switch to another color of plastic, creating swirls and blends unintentionally. This results in a multi-color disc. Even if it is just one small area of a color other than the main color of the disc, they can no longer be classified as a solid color. Some manufacturers, including Lightning and Discraft’s “Swirl” discs and some Vibram Discs, intentionally mix colors to create a multi-color disc. A multi-color disc is not the same as tie-dye.
How We List Weights
Disc Nation lists each disc for sale with its exact gram weight. For discs that come marked with an exact weight from the manufacturer, we use the weight as marked (except where noted - see below for "precision weighed"). For discs that come marked with a weight range, we re-weigh each disc as it enters our massive order processing facility.
If you receive a disc marked "precision weighed" on the label, that disc has been weighed at our facility. This weight may vary from manufacturer weight.
Disc Weight Selection Tips
Most golf discs are manufactured in a variety of weights, resulting in the commonly asked question, “what weight should I choose?” While there is no answer that is right for everyone, there are some guidelines that we follow in helping players select the best disc weight for their game.Golf discs can vary in weight from 120 to 180 grams. While some models come in this wide array of weights, a more common selection for most discs is 165 – 175g. Many new players to the sport assume that the best weight to start with is 175g, as this is the weight of most traditional Frisbees ® (ultimate discs). This, however, is not the best way to select the proper disc weight.
For players who are just starting out, the most important factors in selecting a disc weight are the players age, size, and strength. The table below summarizes our recommendations for selecting an initial driver. Please note that these recommendations are geared towards new players. Once you have started playing, you will be able to experiment with the weights that suit your throwing style the best.

In general, lighter discs will have more glide and will travel farther than heavier discs. In addition, a heavier disc will behave as if it is more stable since it takes more force to get the same spin on a heavier disc. Heavier discs also perform better in windy conditions. Since mid-range discs and putters are generally not thrown full-force and are more susceptible to wind, we sometimes recommend moving up one weight class for these discs.
Please Note: Players in Japan are only allowed to play with 150g Class discs.
Policy on Disc Color & Stamps
All items featuring a specific desirable characteristic (i.e. 1st Run or Limited Edition Stamp, Discontinued or Collectible mold or print, etc.) will have these features listed as part of the description. If you order a product that advertises a "1st Run" or other limited edition stamp, then we will send you that stamp. If, however, you order a disc that does not specify a specific stamp, you will receive the current production-run version of that item. Manufacturers change disc stamps often and we often have multiple stamps in stock at any given time for a disc. So, unless otherwise noted in the item's title or description, you may not receive the exact stamp shown.
We show one picture of a given item, but have stock in different colors at different times. The item you receive will be based on the option you select when you add it to your cart.
